Armley Mills, Leeds Year 4

Year 4 – Thursday 19th April 2018

Year 3 – Friday 20th April 2018

To support our new theme about the Victorians, children in Years 3 and 4 will visit Armley Mills Museum in Leeds to experience a 'Victorian Day'. The day offers children the opportunity to step back in time and experience what life was like as a child in the past.  They will spend half the day being schooled in the Victorian classroom, and half the day in the Victorian Mill, to gain an authentic feel for the period.  We will leave school at 8.45am, so it is essential that the children be at school by 8.25am. We will return by 3.30pm.

To help make the day as authentic as possible, the children need to wear a Victorian themed outfit, e.g. dark trousers, waistcoats, caps, white shirts and/or pinafore dresses and shawls. Children will need a packed lunch and drink for the day.  If you would like a packed lunch from school, please complete the form attached.

The cost of the trip including transport is £12.90. We are therefore asking for a voluntary contribution of this amount for each child to cover the cost. Please pay and consent via Parentpay by Monday 26 March or return the reply slip and money in a sealed envelope to school.  Children entitled to free school meals will have the cost met centrally.  If anyone else has any difficulties, please speak to the office.

If you would like your child to visit the shop, please give them a maximum of £2.00 to spend, for which they must take full responsibility.

There is a limited number of spare seats to accommodate parent helpers, whose help is always much appreciated; please contact your child’s class teacher if you are able to support us.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Kendall and Miss Carroll
