Year 2 visit to Shibden Hall- Thursday 21st September 2017

Our visit to Shibden Hall in Halifax will take place on Thursday 21st September. This trip will support our theme, ‘Could a loaf of bread destroy a whole city?’ during which children will find out more about the Great Fire of London by exploring the hall and taking part in activities with characters in costume.

The children will travel by coach. Please note that children will need to be in school at the earlier time of 8.30am and will return slightly later than usual at 3.45pm to allow us enough time at the venue for the workshops to take place.

As part of the day will be spent outside, exploring the grounds around Shibden Hall, children will need a waterproof coat and sensible shoes or trainers.

They will require a packed lunch for the trip; should you wish to order one from the kitchen please see the attached sheet. Children will also need to bring a bottle of water.

The cost of the trip including transport is £11.00. We are therefore asking for a voluntary contribution of this amount for each child to cover the cost.  Please could you return the reply slip and money in a sealed envelope to school or consent and pay on ParentPay by 14 September.  Children entitled to free school meals will have the cost met centrally.  If anyone else has any difficulties, please speak to Mrs Lee or Mrs Hill.

We are looking for parent helpers to accompany us on this trip. Please speak to your child’s class teacher if you would be willing to help.

Yours sincerely,

Mrs Hill, Mrs Armstrong and Mrs Newton
