Stone Age Workshop 2017

Portal to the Past Workshops

Year 4 Wednesday 6th September 2017

Year 3 Thursday 7th September 2017

To support our Autumn term Theme learning challenge ‘Who was here first?’, children in Year 3 and Year 4 will be taking part in exciting and engaging workshops. It will be a wonderful ‘WOW’ experience for the children, where they will begin their learning journey about life in the Stone Age. The day will be led by ‘Portals to the Past’, professionals with a passion for archaeology and history who are experienced historical re-creationists; they provide the children with an experience designed to stimulate, build curiosity and encourage a love of history.

This experience will run throughout the school day and include group investigations where the children explore artefacts and gain hands-on experience of ancient technology and skills with their host for the day - Clud, a ‘real-life’ Stone Age man. The children will remain in school, wear school uniform and have their usual lunchtime routine.

The cost of the day is £5.30. We are asking for a voluntary contribution of this amount for each child to cover the cost. Please enclose this in a named envelope with the slip below, or via ParentPay, by the end of summer term.

 Yours sincerely,

The Year 3-4 Team
