Safer Internet Day
Safer Internet Day 2017 was celebrated globally on Tuesday 7th February with the theme 'Be the change: unite for a better internet'.
Burley Oaks joined in the celebrations with a week of activities to make sure our children are SMART when they go online, starting with a reminder of our SID 2016 work with an assembly lead by the Digital Leaders. On Tuesday, Smartie the Penguin reminded KS1 to “Think before you click”, KS2 considered the “The Power of the Image” and our parents were encouraged to “Make time to Talk” at Wednesday’s parents’ information evening. The children had fun making eSafety posters in the Photo-booth activity, having discussed taking ownership of digital images of themselves on and offline with their families, and how to make a positive contribution to the internet in the “Post-It” activity.
We all used our wonderful graphic skills to design a new “digi-dojo” eSafety hero for our competition, the winning entries will soon appear on our updated pupil acceptable use agreements.
Please look at our Internet Safety Page on this website to find further advice and information.
