Bolton Abbey Trip Year 5
As part of our geography learning about our local area and the physical features of ‘Rivers’, Year 5 will be visiting Bolton Abbey, where they will participate in a workshop about ‘rivers’ and ‘the water cycle’. The water cycle will be revisited learning, ensuring our children have a solid foundation of knowledge onto which to build their learning about Rivers. In addition, we hope to give our children a sense of the beautiful landscape in which they live. Our children will have time to explore the immediate area of the river and do some field sketches and map exploration work.
We require children to wear their school sweatshirt or navy hoodie. As most of the day will be spent outside, it is essential that they come dressed appropriately, with additional layers, a waterproof coat, hat, gloves, as well as trainers or wellies and sun cream applied or a hat dependent on what the weather is looking like on the day.
The children will travel by coach. In order that we can leave school by 9am, please ensure that your child arrives promptly in school no later than 8:45am on this morning. We will be back in school for 3pm so children can be picked up at the normal time.
The children will be required to bring a packed lunch from home for the trip and they will also require their water bottle.
We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £8.50 per child to cover the cost of the trip. Please consent and pay via Parentpay by Wednesday 15th September 2021. Children entitled to free school meals will have this cost met centrally. If your child is entitled to school meals, please email email@example.com to confirm consent. If you have questions about meeting the cost of the trip, please contact the office.
