Jorvik - Year 5 - Monday 29 April 2019

Jorvik Trip – Year 5 – Monday 29th April 2019

As part of our learning challenge for this term: “Invaders – sea-faring savages?”, a trip for the Year 5 and 6 children has been planned to Jorvik to experience what life was like as a viking. Your child will take part in a series of workshops at the Jorvik Centre and at DIG, which is a 5-minute walk from the main centre.

The day:

We will be departing school at 8:30am so your child will have to be in school no later than 8:15. We will be leaving York at 2:00pm so should return to school no later than 3:30. If the weather is fine, the children will be brought through the front gate and handed over to parents; please wait by the front entrance so we can bring the children into school safely.

Your child will need:

- to wear their school uniform on the top half and something comfortable on the bottom half (no jeans).

- to wear trainers.

- a coat.

- a packed lunch and a drink (a school lunch form is available from the office to order through school).

The cost of the trip including transport is £14.25 per child, we are therefore asking for a voluntary contribution of this amount for each child to cover the cost of the trip. It is available to purchase and consent to via our on-line system - Parentpay.  Children entitled to free school meals will have the cost met centrally. If anyone else has difficulties, please speak to Mrs Lee or the office.

If you are able to help support us on the trip, then please let your child’s class teacher know as soon as possible.

Please pay and consent by Monday 25 March 2019.

Yours sincerely
