Nell Bank - Year 3 - Monday 23 May 2022
To revisit, revise and consolidate our history learning from the Autumn term, Year 3 will be visiting Nell Bank on Monday 23rd May 2022. The workshop will help children understand the changes in Britain from the Stone Age to the Iron Age. Using artefacts and hands-on activities based in the roundhouse, we will experience a day in the life of a typical Stone Age boy; with hands-on experience cave painting, fire lighting, and much more. This day is sure to get the children’s imaginations running wild and will consolidate our learning in school, making them even more excited to learn about our past.
We will leave school at 9.45am, travel by coach and return by 3.15pm.
Children will need a packed lunch and drink. If you would like to order a packed lunch from school, please complete and return the attached form by Thursday 12 May.
We are asking for a voluntary contribution of £19.80 per child to cover the cost of the trip. Children entitled to free school meals will have this cost met centrally, if this applies please confirm consent by emailing email@example.com. If anyone else has concerns about meeting the cost of the trip, please contact the office. Please consent and pay through the School Gateway app by Wednesday 18th May.
We require children to wear their school uniform for this visit. As it is outdoors, they will need sensible footwear and a waterproof/warm coat. The need for hats, sun cream etc. will be dependent on the weather on the day – please judge this accordingly.
